The Burden of Proof!

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel…I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.”
– John 5:19-20, 30-32

Court is in session and the Honorable Judge God, The Father is presiding over cases mentioned herein. Before us is docket number John 5: 19-20 and 30-32, the case of Jesus’ calling and the actions that follow. Believe it or not, that is how most of us view our callings with God. We look at them as if they were cases that we have to prove to people and justify to the naysayers. In actuality, that is not the reason God called you. God didn’t call you so that you can go around spending all your time and energy trying to convince people that you are who you say you are. No, He called you simply on the merit or basis of Him knowing you before you were even born. In other words, your calling is not about you making a name for yourself, rather it is about you making His name known amongst the people in the land. I know for some that this seems foreign, because you have spent most of your time and energy already trying to prove yourself to others. However, the sole purpose of this article is to bring balance and a greater depth of understanding into your life. To do this I will start with none other than the Son himself, Jesus.

From the time of his conception, it was already understood just who Jesus would be. When God visited Mary He informed her that the child she would birth would be the Son of God and at the appointed time the Lord God would give him the throne of his father David. It was even spoken to Joseph that he would be the Savior of all people from their sins. Yet, they didn’t go around trying to prove that they had what had or who they had. Instead, they humbled themselves and went about their lives as usual and patiently awaited the appointed time when it should reveal itself. Watch this. Mary went to her cousin, Elisabeth house to visit with her. She didn’t walk in showcasing her pregnancy and saying you know who I’m carrying don’t you. She didn’t say I have been given the great pleasure to carry in my womb the Savior of the world. Mary simply went to visit with her. Now, it could be speculated upon as to the actual reasoning for her visit, but based on what happens I believe her visit was preordained. Why? As soon as Mary said hey, the baby in Elisabeth’s womb leaped and she (Elisabeth) was filled with the Holy Ghost. At this moment I realized something. Can I give you the first shout cue? True power is not implied, it’s imparted. You missed it! John, the child that was in Elisabeth’s womb, received his spiritual impartation for the fulfillment of his destiny while he was still in his mother’s womb. Wasn’t no hands laid, wasn’t no oil spread, and there wasn’t any direct communication made. All that happened was true power had been revealed or came in contact with a calling on the life of somebody who would be born into life and have a made up mind to serve God no matter what. That’s a mouthful right. Okay, so let’s break this down.

Earlier I made mention that God called you simply on the basis of him knowing who you were before you were even born. What does that mean doc? Basically, God saw your father and mother coming together, He saw the sperm released, and He saw implantation take place. He saw you growing in the womb, and He saw your birth. However, before all of that He knew you and who/what you would become. Therefore, I came to declare that it was at that moment that He placed His calling upon you. Watch this. Once a calling is placed on the life of an individual, there must be an impartation by the spirit of God. This impartation then has enough power within itself to go to work and bring to past or manifestation the calling that is on your life. I know some of you still don’t believe me yet, but just wait and it shall be revealed. When the angel visited Mary, she was not yet pregnant. The angel spoke of the seed she would carry and told her what the seed would become. Mary said how shall this calling be fulfilled seeing that I am a virgin and have not known any man. You ready? Hear it comes. The angel said the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee. Mary answered and said be it unto me according to your word, and her acceptance or belief in the call caused her to immediately conceive. So, the angel came and delivered the calling to Mary, Mary believed in her calling, and the Holy Ghost imparted the power needed to bring the calling to past.

Now, watch this, based on the information presented in the second paragraph, this tells me that in addition to a call being received from God, there must also be faith released on the part of the receiver anticipating the fulfillment of the call. I’m going to prove that in just one minute, but first there is something that I must deal with. Mary goes and visits Elisabeth. Mary says “hey,” the baby leaped and Elisabeth was filled. Question: Who announced anything to anybody? Who even told Elisabeth that Mary was pregnant, let alone who she was carrying? Can I give y’all the next shout cue? “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).” What am I saying to you all? There are some things that God has stored up for you and you are waiting on man to prophesy to you regarding those things. However, I’m here to tell you that you are both waiting on and looking to the wrong things. Instead of putting your expectation of God to reveal what he’s going to do in your life through man, you need to begin to draw nearer to him and develop a deeper relationship with his spirit so that he can give you the plan, process, provisions, and profits himself. Why are you waiting on man’s fingerprints when God has the blueprints for your life?

Now, here is where I will prove that there must be a faith released in order to receive impartation from the spirit. To do this, I must first present this question: How did the baby John receive his calling in the womb? The answer is in the beginning of Luke Chapter One. Zacharias was a priest in his town. One day while he was operating in his priestly office, he had an encounter with an angel by the name of Gabriel. Yes, the same Gabriel who visited Mary. The angel spoke to Zacharias about his wife conceiving and giving birth to a child who shall be named John. Zacharias didn’t believe the angel due to him being old in age and his wife also. As a result, Gabriel told him that he would be dumb or not able to speak due to his unbelief. Okay, let’s fast forward. Elisabeth has the baby, and an argument ensues about the name of the child. Zacharias wrote on a tablet that his name is John, and immediately his mouth was loosed and he began to praise God. Zacharias was then also filled with the Holy Ghost in a room full of people. Watch this. There is no mention of the other people having neither received nor being filled. Why? The Holy Ghost and gifts of the spirit can only be imparted from God to it’s destined recipient and that only happens when you have a people that are willing to become obedient to the things of God, thereby positioning themselves for the things of God according to their faith. Zacharias had the same ability to believe the first time the angel of God spoke to him, but his response was different from Mary’s response. She believed and he didn’t. Thus, she received and he didn’t. Mary was able to be imparted into, while Zacharias was not. This leads me to something extremely important about being imparted into.

Impartation comes as a result of true power coming into contact with someone that is hungry, seeking, and expecting a move of God! That’s why you see only a hand full of people receiving from God when the pastor says “The Spirit of the Lord is here!” It’s not here to fall on just anyone, but it’s here to fall on those who are hungry for God, not the pastor, to do what He said He was going to do in their lives. So, impartation comes as a result of your believe in and hunger for God to move on your behalf, bringing to past everything He promised to you and fulfilling the call that He placed inside you. Need proof? In Romans 1:11, Paul tells the people, “For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established.” The gifts of the spirit are not given, rather they are imparted as a result of your call and hunger coming into contact with true power.

So, Zacharias got his calling from God and received his impartation as a result of his contact with the baby John. Elisabeth and the fetus John got their calling from God and received their impartation as a result of their contact with the fetus Jesus. Mary got her calling from God and received her impartation as a result of her contact with the Angel Gabriel and the Holy Ghost. In other words, when you really are in possession of true power from God there is no need for you to go around telling everybody about it. There is no need for you to shout it from the mountaintops. You don’t have to go around explaining yourself to everybody as to why you do what you do or why you behave how you behave. You don’t even have to chase people down and try to force it upon them or advertise it as an agent of change. If you truly have what you believe you have then it will show up in the lives of people you touch. It will demonstrate itself by the showing up when a demonic, downtrodden, outcast of an individual comes into contact with you. Most importantly, you don’t use it for gimmicks and give-mes, rather it is for the glory of God to be revealed. What are you saying to us Kean? A person that is in possession of true power from God imparts the things of God into the lives of those who are hungry for God to show up on their behalf.

Now, we are talking about the Burden of Proof. What does all of this have to do with the Burden of Proof? Can I give y’all the last shout cue? When you have what God says you have, and you are believing for what God says you shall have. It’s not up to you to prove it to the individual, rather it is God’s job to do that. Somebody said, break that down for me brother. I will. When God called you, He told you what He wanted for you life and what He wanted you to do. He even goes as far as telling how He wants it done at times. Whenever God gives the plans that He has for you, they supersede your level of comprehension at that moment. What do we do? We immediately get intimidated or start trying to figure out how we are going to make it happen. We start looking at all the circumstances we are currently facing, all the reasons as to why it cannot happen, and all the people who may not believe in us. However, the thing that we fail to understand is that He revealed it to us to give us fore-knowledge of the plan and to cause us to release our faith in His ability to do just what he said he would do. So, when He gives you the plan He is not asking for your facts but your faith. Once we release our faith, He takes on the responsibility of proving both himself and His plans regarding us. Mary understood that and got exactly what was promised.

Jesus told his disciples, as he was preparing to make his transition from being in human form to being in heavenly formation, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:12-13). I know I said that the last shout cue was the last one and please forgive me, but can I insert just one more shout cue here? When there is a call from God on your life and you begin to seek him regarding him bringing this call into full manifestation, He (God) decided within himself that He will make it happen. He will bring it to past. He will cause that dream to become a reality. In other words, although it may seem like it’s not working right now, simply wait a while. For after you have suffered a while, He will make you perfect. He will establish you. He will strengthen you, and He will settle you. Watch this. When something is settled in the world of law, it means that the case in point has been resolved or put to rest. This is usually done by the presentation of irrefutable evidence supporting the original claim in the first place. What are you saying to us Kean? All God is asking of you concerning the call on your life is to simply, “Write the vision and make it plain. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:2-3).”

Can I close this thing out now? I think I can. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Settle me in my thinking about the things concerning my calling. Don’t let me be too hasty and too slow at taking action when action is needed. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Settle me in my way of talking concerning the things surrounding me calling. Don’t let me speak in contrast to what my vision is, but only let me speak faith to help me keep my vision alive and kicking. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Settle my mind concerning the calling you have placed on me. Don’t let me become too high minded or low minded regarding the vision; instead, keep me humbled until your hand exalts me at the appointed time. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Settle my ways regarding that of my vision Lord. Let my ways please you and be in agreement with my vision. Let them always be in agreement and in step with the original plan that you outlined for me. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Settle my heart Lord, that I may never grow weary while waiting for the manifestation of my vision Lord. Settle my heart Lord, that I may never become too anxious, fearful, doubtful, or even lustful regarding my call and the vision. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! I only want what you want me to have. I only want who you want me to have. I only need what you need me to have. I only need who you need me to have. I don’t want my neighbors dreams, plans, or visions. But Lord, I want that which you predestined for me before the foundation of the world.

Can I go higher? Reach brother! I think I will! Somebody Shout Settle Me Lord! Lord I’ve been waiting and greatly anticipating you to do what you said you were going to do. I’ve been serving and serving and serving while I’m waiting on you to do what you said you were going to do. So, Lord strengthen me as I continue to wait. Strengthen me as I continue to serve. For this thing I know, both my waiting and my serving are not in vain. For at the appointed time, you shall show up and prove me like you said you would. Shout Out Settle Me Lord! Lord my money is below low and my bills are above due, and since I have your ear my confidence is barely hanging in there to. So, I need you to strengthen my heart Lord, so that I can continue to run on and finish the course that you have set before me. Lord, I need you to Settle Me! My reputation is taking blow after blow, my self esteem is taking blow after blow, my integrity is taking blow after blow, my character is taking blow after blow, and my Identity is taking blow after blow. However, I’ve made up my mind that I will not take it upon myself to prove myself to anybody. Instead, I’ll wait on you to show up, show out, and show all that this here is my child in whom I’m well pleased. I’ve decided from this day forward, no longer will I bare the Burden of Proof; instead, I yield the Burden of Proof over to you. It’s yours and I’m yours, so Lord I’m patiently waiting for you to come and Settle Me! Shout Yes! Yes! Be blessed and stay encouraged
